The Mortley Review

A durational inquiry into contemporary Jamaican visual culture.

This is a space for following my thinking as it develops through what I encounter. I am interested in the thoughts that begin quietly in the course of living and gradually become difficult to leave alone. The ones that ask to be examined further and sometimes become something larger than the moment that produced them.

My writing is shaped by moving through Jamaica as a young woman and by the particular things that draw my attention. I want to follow an idea for as long as it remains useful, allowing the writing to find its own form.
